Fireside Chats

Fireside Chats / 2023
University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning
Fireside Chats is a 4-part series on contemporary modes of practicing architecture beyond the conventional architecture firm model. The aim is (1) to expose students to different modes of practice that balance out experimentation and risk-taking with the pragmatics of starting a practice and (2) to show students how to become design leaders in their communities.
The format is derived from Roosevelt’s ‘Fireside Chats’ series that aimed to assuage fears around the time of Great Depression. We adopt the format to start a conversation about life after graduation.
The four speakers were:
1. Yino Luo Moore of Adams Theater, MA
2. Khorshid Naderi Azad of Window Works, Vancouver, BC
3. Joshua Peasley of CAUKIN Studio, London, UK
4. Adam Nathaniel Furman of Atelier, London, UK
